Join the Angela Thirkell Society and help us further our aim to raise awareness of Angela Thirkell and her work, both as novels and as social history.
There’s so much to learn about Angela Thirkell. Her family and her wider connections reaching into the heart of early 20th century academia, art, music and literature.
The Angela Thirkell Society (ATS) works to promote Thirkell’s books, and educate, entertain and divert with regional meetings, outings and publications.
Membership brings you two newsletters per year, the annual Angela Thirkell Society Journal, and a special publication or gift every Christmas. It will also put you in touch with other Angela Thirkell enthusiasts.
On joining, new members receive the latest journal and the most recent available back issue. They also enjoy access to a collection of music tracks, “From the Novels”, by download links or on CD. There’s also the opportunity to fill any gaps in your collection from our wide range of secondhand books – hardback and paperback novels and many back issues of the journals, all at bargain prices.
To try something new without expanding your bookshelves, the ATS operates a library book scheme for members. A wide range of novels, social history, memoirs and biographies are available for just the cost of the postage. Using PayPal
Single payments can be made through PayPal. Please ask for a PayPal invoice which can be paid using a debit or credit card if you don’t have a PayPal account.
New members joining after October 1st in any year won’t need to renew their membership in the following January. For example, if you join on October 2nd 2026 you won’t need to make a further payment until 1st January 2028.
