The Society’s regional groups, together with so much else, stopped meeting during the Covid lockdowns, but there are tender green shoots of recovery. To (hopefully) get things started again, there’s a meeting in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, on September 9th, open to all ATS members who feel able and inclined to join us for quiche, cake, and Coronation Summer.
Anyone attending next month’s Midlands region gathering, or just interested in one of Angela Thirkell’s non-Barsetshire books, might enjoy this review. Written by our chairman, Hilary Temple, it appears on the Reading 1900-1950 blog from Sheffield Hallam University.
References and “relusions” within the book are explained here.
